About James R. Jennings, CPA
Jim Jennings hails from Michigan, where he earned his B.A. at MSU in 1984 and started his career in1985 as a junior loan underwriter with Manufacturers Hanover. He left in 1986 to pursue a career in accounting both in private industry and public accounting.
In 1990 Jim followed business opportunities and balmy weather south to Georgia where he became a Certified Public Accountant and went on to earn his Master of Taxation degree in 1993 at Georgia State University. As a Certified Public Accountant, Jim worked with a renowned tax consultant for troubled or bankrupt companies from 1994 to 1997.
At the time Jim also worked with members of Finley, Colmer & Company. He became their affiliate in June, 1997, specializing in consulting services for mergers and acquisitions and for financially troubled companies in restructuring or bankruptcy proceedings.
At Finley, Colmer, Jim provides professional services to the debtors' appointed Trustee, Liquidating Agent, Responsible Person, Plan Administrator, or Financial Advisor. Often he assists in recovering bankrupt estates' assets, formulating reorganization or restructuring plans, negotiating creditor claims, and liquidating assets. He also extensively assists in operating companies both in and out of bankruptcy.
